It all began with an idea

Hi, I am Jess!
Wife to my wonderful, supportive and handy husband, Aidan. Mama to 3 year old Amelia and 1 year old Oliver. Daughter, sister, friend and self proclaim DIY Queen.

Like most things in my life, the idea for a Little Bluebird blog came to me at 1am when I most definitely should have been very fast asleep.

Most nights I find myself on my phone scrolling Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Tik Tok. Endlessly seeking ideas, the reassurance, the indirect support that I AM enough, that I am DOING enough that I am providing Millie and Ollie with ENOUGH. Enough mummy time, enough educational time, enough social time, alone time, reading time, outdoor time, risky play, craft time, and the list goes on and on and on.

When is ENOUGH?

Is there ever… ENOUGH?

I can say pure heartedly that I am not the only parent, the only caregiver, the only human being always asking… Am I doing enough?

Being a parent is HARD. As much as one can prepare themselves in advance, life likes to throw you surprises, curve balls, miniature versions of ourselves to test every inch of patience left to give.

These thoughts eventually lead me to the idea of adding blogs to Little Bluebird’s ever growing site of handmade creations. A home for my ideas to flow free. Time saving tips, toddler approved crafts, meals or even just to let you know what our little flock has been up to lately!

We called it, Our Nest (do you get it?).

If me sharing a small portion of our lives helps even just one other parent realise that YOU ARE ENOUGH, then I have done my job.
